Creattura Launches 14,000-Hectare AWD Project in the Philippines Using AI-Powered Digital MRV Platform LynxAWD

Creattura Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomomichi Hattori; hereinafter “Creattura”) is pleased to announce the full-scale launch of an AWD (Alternate Wetting and Drying) project covering 14,000 hectares of rice paddies in Pangasinan Province, Republic of the Philippines, along with the full deployment of Creattura’s proprietary digital MRV platform “LynxAWD.”
Since establishing a dedicated local team in 2023, Creattura has expanded its activities in the region to cover 14,000 hectares, engaging approximately 10,000 farmers in sustainable farming practices and establishing one of the largest digitally monitored AWD initiatives in the region.
A key enabler of this project is Creattura’s proprietary digital MRV system, “LynxAWD.”
This platform centralizes farmer registration, field boundaries, water-management logs, satellite imagery, and photo evidence into a unified compliance-grade database. Through linkage with the custom mobile app “FieldSnap,” field photos documenting flooding and drainage are automatically tagged and organized in real time, enabling the system to manage more than 100,000 images per season.
Additionally, by applying Creattura’s proprietary SWAP model, a patented AI system combining high-resolution satellite imagery with millions of ground truth observations, the platform can detect surface water conditions even beneath vegetative canopy. This significantly streamlines field monitoring operations that traditionally relied on manual operations, achieving both scalability and objective accuracy.
To ensure that each participating farmer can reliably practice AWD, Creattura independently conducts training sessions in Pangasinan. These sessions cover the principles and methods of AWD, along with agronomic best practices such as precision fertilization and pest management. Early participants have reported yield increases of 4-9% and reduced irrigation frequency, contributing to lower input costs.
LynxAWD also reduces the workload at the field level. Tasks previously carried out manually by farmers and local staff, such as measuring water levels and managing documentation, can now be handled by the system. This has reduced monitoring hours per hectare and documentation errors, while improving readiness for verification by independent auditors.
Creattura also offers LynxAWD as a solution to external AWD developers worldwide, accelerating the deployment of high-integrity rice methane projects at scale.
By combining digital MRV infrastructure with on-the-ground farmer engagement, Creattura is building scalable systems that reduce methane emissions and deliver measurable economic benefits to rice-growing communities.
